| your vote's not gonna count. Your legislators have already made the decision. Do a little research and you will find that Oakland is already taking applications for Marijuana farms. the land has already been set aside for the purpose of growing pot. http://www.marinij.com/tablehome/ci_15614610http://azstarnet.com/news/national/article_f859ffde-a2e0-5231-b90a-b8b5e292baac.htmlthe article has been reworded a bit since it was released, but the original version that was published in California states that the local medical marijuana growers are protesting the measure due to the fact that it will put them out of business and make the medical legalization laws null and void once the legalization for recreational use passes. Another thing that has been left out in this reprint is that one of the stipulations to the license says that 8% of the gross income (not the net, that will be taxed seperately)of the farm has to be turned over for taxes. A second requirement is that by law the largest of the farms (as the current licenses state) will supply no less than 21,892 pounds of marijuana per year with a steady increase each subsequent year that it is business. Basically what this says is that the Oakland legislators have and the state of California have already made the decision to legalize. The only question is when? personally from a business stand point i think they will postpone the legalization (even if the mass vote passes) until the farms are ready to begin production. That may be in November and then again it may be a year down the road. If you start researching what the state legislators in California are looking at you will find that they have already done the research and chosen a "Legal" price of $50 per oz which according to their figures will bring in more than one billion in revenue in the first year. Also they have implemented the "Licenses" in Oakland so they can oversee the quality to make sure you get the most bang for your buck. Basically think the quality and grade of Amsterdam weed. They believe that the higher the quality the more sales they will get and the more revenue the state will receive. California is the guinea pig state. California is the worlds 5th largest economy and the state is flat broke at present. on an economical level what this means is that the entire federal economy is on the brink, look at Europe a and the bailout they are looking at giving Greece. The entire world economy is on the verge of collapse as we speak. Take a look at the news and read how france has changed some of their laws on how public money is given out at retirement. most european nations are also rethinking their "socialist" use of money. germany is looking at changing how they pay for students to go to universities. and i know that many europeans are gonna argue these points but admit it your governments are retooling there use of public funds, watch the news and get up on current events. in the US marijuana legalization is one of the last ditch efforts we have to hold off financial collapse so California gets to run the experiment and if it proves successful the rest of the US will follow. Federal laws against the legalization will take a backseat to state laws, we already see more states suing the government over the health care passage so here in the next few years i believe that we will see the states finally stand up and take the power away from the fed. this marijuana fiasco is just the first fight in what will be a war between the state and fed in the coming future. hold your fingers in the air and tell the fed to fuck off they are going to take everything we have and give it to the have nots that refuse to get off there lame asses and work to join the society of the haves. toke a bowl and let em know that some bum sitting on his ass doesn't deserve to have a welfare check that will put less bud in your bong. -Hippie | |

because if you've never had the THC pills they are manufactured so that you dont get the same high from them. they are more of a stabilizing agent for cancer patients that get nauceous from the chemo treatments. also because THC is a chemical that doesn't hold it's stability during the break down in the digestive system. once it passes through the acids in the stomach it loses a large amount of it's potency and it gives you a different kind of high. you get high off of pot brownies but no where near as high as if you smoke it. pots heads would instantly notice the difference so that would open a whole new can of worms. -Hippie

| it has been my understanding that the purpose for medical legalization isnt to help people "get high" but to alleviate the symptoms of chemo, glaucoma, arthritis and other ailments. basically a natural pain reliever, not a recreational purpose.
remember november,, thats the slogan. we might not be able to fire Obama this winter but we can take away his checkbook. along with firing half of Congress. I agree the lealization is a last ditch effort to save Californias and ultimately the US economy while all around the world economies are crumbling as the dollar goes down the tubes. might as well legalize it, the dollar is already the right color and worth little more than rolling paper

| Don't forget what is going on and who controls things right now. They will legalize it. Once it is legalized, they can subsidize it for the people who can't afford it. THAT"S RIGHT. YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE GOING TO PAY FOR THE UNEMPLOYED, LAZY TRASH THAT LIVE OFF OF US!!! If the opposite of PRO is CON, what is the opposite of PROGRESS? | |

Tell you what's even more fucked up got-it. if you pay attention to the local news California is positioning itself (this has already been released by the state in many press conferences, watch the news and listen) to be not only the Marijuana capital of the United States, but the Marijuana Capital of the world. As it stands now preliminary polls show that if the vote was held today Proposition 19 would be shot down today. but the state legislators have something up there sleeve, if they didn't they would have all this about the marijuana farms on the books and they wouldn't be positioning themselves to begin mass production of an illegal substance

| two years ago I almost took out a HUGE loan to buy property in a certain area near the coast to get on the medical MJ train. Kind of glad I passed that one by looking at things now. I hope they legalize soon, if not i'm hitting my doctor up for a weed card. Come to think of it I may hit him up for one now before they become collectors items. | |
